Join celebrated DC-based food photographer, Scott Suchman (@scottsuchman) for this early morning exploration of food and light using a variety of Leica cameras including the M, Q, SL, and off-camera flash.
The Dupont Circle’s Farmers Market has been a staple of the Washington DC neighborhood since 1997 and hosts over 50 farmers and vendors.
Participants will learn how to properly work with the full range of Leica cameras and lenses- from wide angle to short telephoto. You will discover techniques using natural and artificial light to capture energized still-life images of fresh farm products and portraits of the purveyors.
Scott Suchman will demonstrate techniques for both natural light and off-camera flash photography. If you are interested in taking on this next step in your photography or trying something new, we recommend you join us.

Who Should take this workshop:
This workshop is open to advanced amateurs and newly minted professionals. We will be working in the feild and photographing candid subjects. All cameras are welcome.

Agenda: Sunday - June 9, 2024
8:00AM-9:30AM - Check in and presentation at the Leica store.
9:30AM-10:00AM - Travel to DuPont Circle Farmer’s Market.
10:00AM-12:00PM - Walk through discussion before breaking up for independent shooting.
12:15PM-2:00PM - Included group brunch for continued discussion and social time at a nearby restaurant.
What to Know about this workshop:
This workshop will take place at the Dupont Circle Farmers in Washington, DC. Before students travel there, they will be introduced to Scott’s style of photography through a brief introduction at the Leica Store. Please notify us as to any food restrictions. We will have a limited number of Leica cameras to loan. Having a Leica camera is not necessary to take the workshop. Each student should have a basic understanding of how their camera works as well as a basic understanding of photography.
