Warranty Policies

Buying from an authorized Leica dealer guarantees genuine products, full manufacturer's warranty, and best in class customer service. This is not available for products purchased from unauthorized agents.

Warranty Overview by Product Category

M Analogue Cameras

  • 2-Year Limited Warranty from date of purchase at an authorized Leica dealer, including accessories in original packaging.
  • 3-Year Passport Protection Plan: We will repair or replace your Leica M analogue camera body purchased from an Authorized USA or Canadian dealer if it becomes damaged or defective — at no charge, regardless of how it happened.
  • Passport excludes: intentional damage, misuse, cosmetic damage, fire, loss, theft, or unauthorized repair or modification.
  • Registering a Leica Account extends your standard warranty an additional 12 months. Note: the Passport warranty cannot be extended.

M Digital Cameras

  • 2-Year Limited Warranty from date of purchase at an authorized Leica dealer, including accessories in original packaging.
  • Registering a Leica Account extends your warranty an additional 12 months.

M Lenses

Sport Optics

All Leica Sport Optic products bought from an authorized North American dealer since Jan 1, 2021 feature a fully transferable 10-Year Passport Protection Plan plus a 30-Year Manufacturer's Warranty.

10-Year Passport Protection Plan

  • We will repair or replace your Leica Sport Optic purchased from an Authorized USA or Canadian dealer if it becomes damaged or defective — at no charge, regardless of how it happened.
  • Excludes: intentional damage, misuse, cosmetic damage, fire, loss, theft, or unauthorized repair or modification.
  • Void if damage results from accessories not sold or authorized by Leica Camera Inc., or service by unauthorized persons.

30-Year Manufacturer's Warranty

  • Covers the optical system of products purchased in the USA and Canada from an authorized Leica Camera Inc. North American dealer.
  • If the optical system is found defective, we will repair or replace the instrument or defective part.
  • All non-optical accessories are warranted for two years from date of purchase.
  • Void if damage results from unauthorized repairs, accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, neglect, fire, flood, or other force majeure.
  • Any Sport Optic purchased in the USA or Canada that is not imported by Leica Camera Inc. and not sold by an Authorized Leica Camera Inc. North American Dealer carries no authorized warranty.
  • To confirm whether a used Leica product was originally purchased via an authorized dealer in the USA or Canada, contact us with the serial number and we will verify for you.

This is a limited warranty, and you may have other rights which vary from state to state. The obligation of the warrantor is solely to repair or replace the product. Neither Leica Camera Inc. nor any of its affiliates are liable for any incidental or consequential damage due to such defect.
