Testimonials

The review session was a rare moment to take stock of my archive and put together a coherent body of work with someone as experienced as Paris Chong of Leica gallery L.A. Paris helped me identify pieces that are strong individually as well as suggested how to arrange and present a larger collection of over 20 photographs.

I have had several mentoring sessions with Paris Chong provided by the “Leika Acadamie USA Meet the Curator Bundled sessions” and am very grateful for her guidance in editing my project, “Reflections” for a book layout and gallery show. We have connected through Zoom meetings and Paris has a gift and intuitive means to group and sequence images. She is positive and very efficient with the time allowed and our sessions have been very worthwhile and productive for me in my creative photographic practice.

Last month I attended a Leica Akademie “meet the curator” online session with Paris Chong.  I am not a professional photographer, and my purpose for attending the session was not to prepare for an upcoming show.  However, I found the discussion quite enlightening, as it allowed me to look at my work in a different way and find connections between my photographs that I would have never considered on my own. Having my work critiqued and seeing it presented through Paris’ vision inspired me to take a different approach when out shooting (which has since resulted in some images I am not sure I would have attempted a month ago).  Paris has a wealth of experience and valuable insight into the process of presenting one’s work.  I highly recommend these sessions for both professional and amateur fine art photographers.
