Join us for a 4 day exploration of Venice Beach with Street Photographer and author of the acclaimed photo book, "Venice Beach, The Last Days of a Bohemian Paradise”, Dotan Saguy. 

Dive into his editing process with exclusive tips for Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro, ensuring your images reach their full potential. Whether you're looking to enhance your skills or define your personal photographic voice, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn from one of Venice Beach’s foremost street photographers.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS WORKSHOP:
Designed with intermediate to advanced photographers in mind, this weekend will focus on shooting techniques, connecting with strangers and approaches to being both engaged and observational as a photographer.  This class will not cover basics such as operation and settings of the camera. Owning a Leica is not required.  A selection of Leica cameras will be available for loan throughout the weekend.

Dotan Saguy was born in a small Israeli kibbutz, grew-up in a diverse working class Parisian suburb and emigrated to the United States at the age of 25. In 2015 Dotan decided to leave his successful high-tech career to focus on his lifelong passion for photography. He then attended the prestigious Eddie Adams Workshop, Missouri Photo Workshop, studied photojournalism at Santa Monica College, and quickly garnered awards and recognition in the field.

 

Dotan’s photographs have been published by National Geographic, The Guardian, the Los Angeles Times and many others. He loves teaching the techniques and methodologies that have made the greatest impact on his own work and has been leading street photography, documentary and travel photo workshops for several well-known organizations.

 

To date Dotan has published three monographs with the famed German publisher Kehrer Verlag: “Venice Beach, the Last Days of a Bohemian Paradise” (2018), “Nowhere to Go but Everywhere” (2020) and “DOGTOWN, the Pups of Venice Beach and their Humans” (2024). Dotan lives in West Los Angeles with his wife, Abigail and their dog, Beau.
