DESCRIPTION:

Take a step deeper into the world you already know with macro photography at Leica Store Washington, DC. Using techniques available in all cameras, this course aims to improve student photography skills and show them what is truely possible by getting closer. 

A host of macro subjects will be provided to photograph during demonstation section of the couse. Allowing students to test what they have learned and walk away with fantastic images. Students will learn how to choose, position, and light your subjects for the best results. 

Equipment show casing old and new methods of macro photography will be available on a first come first serve bases. This course is open to all camera systems and will included techniques any camera can use to achieve close focus photography.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

This course is designed for beginning photographers interested in close up photography and learning more about still life photography. Nature photographers looking for a new techniques to use in the field with live subjects. Experienced photographers looking to create images of interesting subjects in a fun weekend course.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:

This is a ½ day course with provided subjects for students to photograph as they learn more techniques. There will be a break towards the middle of the course to answer questions. Using a Leica camera is not a requirement of the course and all brands are welcome.

INSTRUCTOR:

Sawyer Flint is Leica Akademie's Lead Instructor for Online Product Education with a background in photographic technologies from RIT. With a love for the technical he enjoy’s breaking down complex elements into creative tools for his students.

 

Sawyer begin teaching with Akademie at Leica Store Boston in 2016 before moving to become Leica Store DC's resident Akademie instructor in 2022. For the past 7 years has hosted over a hundred classes both in-person and online. 


Prior Photographic work includes weddings, product photography, social media, portraiture, light painting, and Confocal Microscopy at George Washington University’s Center for Microscopy Imaging Analysis.
