    Best Family Purchase

Posted by Spencer on May 30th 2025

We have owned the Cine Play 1 for about 6 months now. Within my family, it has been mutually agreed upon as one of the best purchases we've made. It's very easy to pick up and move from it's most permanent location in the master bedroom to other rooms for a quick re-calibration to whatever wall or screen you want to watch on. The range of 65"-300" may be an understatement. I have projected to walls on the exterior of the house in excess of 300" and the quality is still great and bright. The wi-fi connection has given us no problems, the apps are all that is needed (Youtube TV, Netflix, Max, Apple, amazon), and the airplay option works flawlessly. The sound options are topnotch: "cinema" sounds like surround sound in a large room, and you can connect to bluetooth headphones to keep quiet while others sleep or when playing video games. The optical qualities are what you could expect from Leica: super crisp and tone-accurate with easy auto-focus, and picture presets to go from cinema dark/light (warmer, less contrast) to sports (vivid, high contrast). Keep in mind that It's a projector. Though it works in well-lit rooms, the blacks will only be as black as the wall/screen it's projecting on. So don't expect perfect quality during the day with the windows open. Startup takes about 10-15 seconds. From "let's watch a movie in the kids' bedroom" to relocation and starting a movie takes maybe five minutes. I have set it up in corners of rooms and used the manual keystone adjustment and manual focus. The auto keystone only works when you are directly in front of the screen or wall you want to project onto, with no variation in surfaces. In my opinion, this is not a problem. The laser brightness works well in lit rooms. I haven't tested side by side with others, but in a dark room I am constantly in awe of the quality. In summary, I've found it super easy to use, been VERY pleased with the audio and visuals, and absolutely recommend this highly portable laser projector.
